  1. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that includes blinkers and the heater? The wiring in the car is completely wrong. I have everything working now except the gauge lights and fuel gauge. Thanks in advance

  2. 40 Fords didn't have blinkers, so it gonna depend on what you have. Aftermarket add on?? GM column?? FoMoCo column??
  3. I will take a picture of the column . I'll look for a brand and part #. The main thing I need is the heater diagram as it Is getting power from the ignition

    Good working 1940 Ford heater switches are hard to find.

    These are the blinker switch heat switch and heater everything is currently working it's just jimmy rigged ugly wiring to test everything I'm getting ready to order a new wiring harness just wanted to make sure it worked and find out which one I needed to hook up the blinkers and heater with a factory made harness

  11. Next question I had is what to replace the positive ground straps with. They are corrosion and causing poor connection. Or should I soak them in a acid bath clean and reuse?

  13. Finally got the link to open. It looks exactly like the one on my car but mine is a Chicago 9000 Idk if that would make a difference. It is wired the same with the exception that the power is drawn from the circuit breaker. The power for the heater is drawn from the ignition switch off the circuit breaker as well. Is this too much? Do I need to change this or will the circuit breaker handle running all of it

  14. I am not one of the wiring experts here on the HAMB. That being said I would be looking at installing a relay for the heater. This would be done to take some of the load off of the ignition switch. I would fuse everything even the turn signals. Fords wiring was very basic but it worked with the heaters wired as shown in the heater stuff I posted earlier so it should work as shown. Same with the turn signals,they should work as shown in the diagram.

  15. Thanks! It is a very simple wiring. Just with it being 6 volt I question myself as I'm not very knowledgeable with that. I appreciate your help
